Hello there, my name is Marie, or thanks to my cousin’s inability to say my name as a child; Meme. I have been meaning to start a blog for a while but never found the time to figure out how to start, but thanks to a not so friendly global pandemic and the UK being on lockdown I figured that while I was shut up inside now would be a good time to start, the alternative is starting my masters dissertation early and not having a Easter break, and I don’t really want to do that right now, so blog!
Overview of me: I am currently (1/4/2020) 26 years old, I grew up in Cornwall, England then have moved to Plymouth (England), Aberdeen (Scotland), Oklahoma (USA), back to Aberdeen and now York (England) all of which were for university related things, I am a bit of a nerd and love studying. I also enjoy music, reading and looking at pictures of cute animals. I am also a member of Girl Guiding and have been since the age of 5.
This blog will be about:
Traveling; places I have been, places I want to go to and hopefully when the pandemic is over places I will be visiting.
Museums; I love museums, so much so I have a degree in studying them (please enjoy this picture of me looking dorky and mildly ill at my MLitt in Museum Studies graduation).

Learning languages, this one I do not have a degree in, but I have studied a few languages in my life, and currently am studying Spanish, Latin and British Sign Language.
History and heritage, this one I also don’t have a degree in but I am working on it. I am currently studying, and mildly avoiding the dissertation for a degree in MSc Funerary Archaeology (no graduation picture for this one – yet – but here are some of the pretty buildings I have class in! and one building that I don’t have class in but is on the campus and super pretty!)

Learning about different people and cultures, I enjoy this one so much I also have a degree in it, well in Anthropology and International Relations but close enough! (here’s another picture of me looking dorky in a cap and gown at my MA (hons) Anthropology and International Relations graduation).

Okay I think that’s a good general overview of me and what I hope this blog will be about, I have a few ideas of what to write about next so hope you enjoyed this post and will stick around for the next!
